Getting started
What is Preloadit?
Preloadit is an expense-management platform: top up your account, issue a virtual card for each vendor, set limits, and track every charge in real time, all while keeping your real card details private.
Do I need a business to sign up?
No. Create an account, verify your email, add funds, and you can start issuing cards.
How long does it take to get a card?
Once your account is approved (usually within 24 hours), you can create a card in seconds, ready to use online right away.
Deposits & fees
How do I add money?
Top up your account using the methods we support, and now with crypto through our payment partner. Funds are credited as soon as the payment confirms.
What does it cost?
Creating cards is free. Crypto deposits carry a small fee that covers the network and transaction costs of accepting crypto, and reloading a card carries a small percentage fee. Both depend on your plan, every fee is shown before you confirm, and there are no hidden charges or overage fees. For volume or partnership pricing, get in touch with our sales team. See plans and pricing
Why is there a fee on crypto deposits?
Crypto payments carry a small deposit fee. It covers the cost of accepting and processing crypto, the exchange and network fees involved, and the market movement and maintenance that come with handling crypto payments. The exact fee is always shown before you confirm your deposit, so there are no surprises.
Can I reuse my balance?
Yes. Your balance stays in your account for new cards and card reloads, and any unspent balance from a card you close returns to it automatically.
Do you have a referral program?
Yes. Share your personal referral link from your profile and earn a percentage of the deposit fees your referrals pay, credited straight to your wallet. Your account needs to be active, verified and in good standing to earn commissions, and commissions can be spent on Preloadit: cards, reloads and other services. How referrals work
Cards & spending
Where can I use my card?
Anywhere that accepts Visa or Mastercard online.
When does my card expire?
Every card is valid for at least two years from the day it's created. The exact expiry date is shown on the card in your dashboard.
Are there fees for international purchases?
Purchases made outside the United States, or in a currency other than U.S. dollars, carry a foreign transaction fee of about 1% of the amount. It is set by the card network and issuing bank, added to the card charge when it settles, and is separate from our deposit and reload fees.
Can I set a spending limit?
Yes. Every card has a spending limit you set when you create it, and you can raise or lower it instantly from the card's page. Raising it reloads the card from your wallet (a small reload fee applies); lowering it returns the difference to your wallet. A limit can't go below what's already spent or pending on the card.
Can I create or close cards myself?
Yes. Open a new card in one click, and close it just as easily from your dashboard when you're done. Closing a card returns any unspent balance to your account, ready for a new card or reload. A card can be closed once its transactions have posted (one with pending charges stays open until those clear).
How many cards can I have?
It depends on your plan. Each plan sets how many cards you can keep active at once and how many you can create each month. Close ones you're done with to free up a slot, and use a separate card per subscription or vendor to stay organized and contain risk. See plans and limits
Privacy & security
How does Preloadit protect my privacy?
Each vendor gets its own virtual card, so your real card details never travel with a purchase. Full card numbers are shown only behind two-factor authentication and are never stored in the clear.
How are my card details protected?
Card numbers and security codes are never stored or logged in plain text, and revealing a full number requires a fresh two-factor code.
Do you support two-factor authentication?
Yes. Enable 2FA on your account, and sensitive actions like revealing a card number require a fresh verification code.
Who issues the cards?
Cards are issued by our regulated banking and issuing partners on the Visa and Mastercard networks. See our Terms for the full disclosure.
Secure checkout
What happens if a purchase needs extra verification?
Some online purchases ask for an extra security step (3-D Secure). When that happens, we email you a secure link to approve or decline the purchase. It is time-sensitive, so open it as soon as you can; if it isn't approved in time, the purchase is declined.
Do my cards support 3-D Secure?
Yes. 3-D Secure is enabled on your cards. You only need to act when a purchase triggers a check, and then it is a single tap to approve or decline from the email we send you.
